The Latest Marketing Trends 2025 Now enhanced with AI Technology
As the Director and Founder of Rivertech Digital®, I've been at the forefront of AI Technology in the Digital Marketing industry for many years now. I have developed marketing campaigns that increased conversions in a matter of minutes and I have developed websites from the ground up where both performance, and engagement metrics skyrocketed. And I have also established next-level marketing strategies that scaled my client’s businesses to the top. All with the help of AI’s integration into marketing. With the ever-growing demand for AI technologies, I feel it’s imperative that all businesses remain aware of the influence AI is currently having, and why AI has blossomed into the marketing phenomenon it is today.
Because if one thing is for certain, with AI, “what is trending today won't be trending in a week or two.” So consistency is key!
This is why as Founder & Director, I have written my own blog post discussing all the Latest Marketing Trends from January 2025 to June 2025, along with their advantages and disadvantages, so that every business owner around the world is not left in the dark, while later they notice their analytics slowly start to take a hit. No, not on my watch!
I established Rivertech Digital® to put clients and other businesses first, and “I feel it’s important for all businesses to have good moral values and look out for one another. Afterall, no business should be left behind.” The Latest Trends I will discuss in this blog have been backed with real-time data and statistics, through hours of extensive research I carried out prior to writing this blog. All the information comes from reputable sources such as Google, Forbes, Think with Google, and TED talks, and Reddit, while also adding my own knowledge and experiences in there as well.
So whether you're a well experienced entrepreneur with immense pressure to stay ahead of the competition, or a new business owner wanting to stay ahead of the game, I will dive deep into everything you need to know in this blog. Let's get started!
Okay, so the first trend we have is…
AI Content Generation: Automation to Real-time optimisation.
The very first introduction of AI, which was seen between 1950 and 1956 (“and yes, I know that sounds surprising when you say it right off the bat”), when one of the first AI research papers was released and titled “Computer Machinery and Intelligence” and written by a gentleman named Alan Turing. Meanwhile, we also have a British journalist, writer, and broadcaster named John McCarthy, who to this day is believed to be the true founder and hero of AI. This was mainly due to the popularity of his work during this time period. So this where the birth of AI began.
Then, from the 50s, AI became increasingly popular and grew at a monumental pace, all the way till 1996. When the world saw the first AI robot, nicknamed ‘Deep Blue’, come to life. From here, till 2025, AI Automation became a worldwide phenomenon, and has now been fully integrated into multiple areas of marketing.
You may be wondering why I started off with this information. Well, the reason for this is that in order to truly understand the direction in which AI is heading, like anything in life, we first need to gain an understanding of where AI began. AI is already transforming a huge number of businesses around the world and if used strategical fashion, AI it will continue to deliver exceptional results for years to come. “Did you know that, in 2025, statistically speaking, over 80% of all marketing executives leveraged AI Technologies to scale their content and enhance their productivity (Source: Forbes).”
The advantages of AI Content Generation include:
· Scalability – AI gives businesses the ability to develop authentic emails, blogs, and content for advertising. Now with AI, this means the content businesses create is far more scalable than before and can rank much higher in search engine results.
· Effectiveness – this is a key quality when it comes to AI, as technologies such as Chat GPT, Jasper, and Copy.ai, instantaneously help users create content which drives high conversions in the most effective way possible. Cool, right?
· Data-Driven Decisions – one thing that amazes me about AI is its ability to calculate exponential amounts of algorithms in seconds. This means AI can tailor the content a business uploads to match the behaviours of its clients in real-time. Now that’s awesome!
· Cost-Saving – AI is a tool that enables businesses to reduce their expenditure in a massive way, as AI reduces the necessity for large creative teams and outsourcing of content.
The Disadvantages of AI Content Generation include:
· Over reliance – businesses could become too reliant on AI, which means the overall tone and message encompassed, in the content they are developing and delivering to their clients could be drowned out without effective control.
Always remember that “you are the business owner, not AI. AI will help you, but ultimately, clients seek reputation to gain trust, and allowing AI to run everything for you, is not a reputable way to run a business. Authenticity is the spice of life.” – Andrew Bernhardt (Founder & Director).
· Plagiarism risks – again, with the point I was making about allowing AI to run your business, you will find that using AI without human involvement poses a huge risk to the reputation of your company. This is because AI will reference content that is readily accessible and most likely copyrighted. So always be sure to double check your work before posting!
· Brand dilution – the tone and voice of your brand will be diluted without human involvement, AI is not your brand. You are!
· Ethical considerations – both disclosure and transparency are two crucial aspects of AI. Disclosure means that, as a business owner, you must make it clear to your audience that you are using AI. Otherwise, you could be faced with huge consequences. And transparency is about making AI easier for users to understand and use.
Here is a key quote to remember: "AI won't replace marketers, but marketers who employ AI will replace marketers who don't." – Source: Think With Google.
Voice Search – An AI Tailored Marketing Strategy designed to engage the user directly.
“In 2025, 50% of all search engine queries is projected to be done by voice. (source: Think With Google)” Again, this goes to show how remarkably AI has grown over the years; and where AI was once a choice, it is now a way of life for practically all business owners, and individuals.
The Advantages of AI Voice Search Technology include:
· AI voice search is entirely hands-free and therefore, this simulates and promotes the way people speak naturally.
· Advantages of local search – “on average, 76% of all voice searchers, search for local information (source: Google).”
· With AI Voice Search, businesses can get answers to their queries almost instantly, and this is ideal for on-the-go searchers.
· Digital Assistants like Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant are a substantial investment opportunity for businesses, due to cost-effectiveness, ease of use and how much profit business owners have already made.
The Disadvantages of AI Voice Search Technology include:
· Poor visual stimulus – because AI Voice Search Technology works only using your voice, this means that your audience, won’t be able to see what you are advertising or selling. Business owners, will have to consistently adapt their content to suit both voice and visual separately which is far more time-consuming.
· Voice Search requires a specific and unique approach in the ‘Key Words’ you speak in order to be ranked effectively in search engines.
· “Requires conversational content, which is deemed to be less specific compared to traditional text queries. This means that businesses will have to shake up their content strategies to address such conversational queries by optimising for more natural language, pronouns, and avoiding complex jargon. (Source: Google).”
· AI Voice Search may bring some analytical challenges with how API and Metrics are recorded and displayed.
“If one is not optimising for voice, then one is not optimising for the future” – (Source: Ted Talk, Voice–First Future).
Click-Free Search Combined with SERP Features – Let’s discuss!
Okay, let's start with the statistics, which show that “over 65% of all Google searches worldwide do not lead to a click on another website (Source: SparkToro through Moz).” Google responds to questions directly through snippets, knowledge panels, and other means.
The advantages of Click-Free Search (SERP) include:
· Brand credibility - being showcased means being trusted.
· Increased visibility - low-ranked content and businesses, ranking higher, much faster.
· Results from Voice Search reach the user much faster than traditional methods.
· Users can provide feedback instantly.
The Disadvantages of Click-Free Search (SERP) include:
· Fewer visitors can click through to your website.
· Measuring ROI metrics can become increasingly difficult.
· Schema markup, which requires structured data and is used to improve user visibility and experiences amongst search results, can be significantly impacted, and therefore could impact where your business ranks in search engine results.
· Not every business owner benefits equally. This is true.
Rivertech Digital® Pro Tip: Implement FAQ schema, optimise your headings, and keep your answers short and tidy so you can dominate snippets.
AI Influencing Personalised Experiences using First-Party Data.
While the use of third-party cookies is slowly fading away, businesses are now turning to ‘First Party Data’ which is driven by AI Technology, to deliver hyper-personalisation. According to sources from Google and Think With Google, “90% of high-performing marketers view hyper-personalisation strategies as an effective way to drive profitability.”
The Advantages of Personalised Experiences using First-Party Data include:
· Businesses benefit from higher engagement & conversions rates.
· Business have the opportunity to develop more robust and long lasting client relations.
· Works in flow with all current Data Protection laws and updates with any new laws in real-time.
· Information from AI is generally more accurate and robust due to the wide range of resources AI can access in a second.
The Disadvantages of Personalised Experiences using First-Party Data include:
· AI requires business to need a highly efficient CRM management system to accumulate data, manage it, and use it as intended.
· It can be a very time-consuming way for businesses to form trust while adhering to data-privacy laws.
· Evidence suggests that using ‘First-Party Data’ leaves businesses at risk of ‘Hyper-Personalising’ their content if not implemented effectively, which can lead to clients making negative perceptions towards their brand while losing trust.

The Rise of Short-Form Content: AI Models having a positive impact on Reels and Videos.
As statistics suggest, “Short-Form content, i.e., Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok videos, generates the most ROI among all other social media content. Source: HubSpot.” This means such content is practically revolutionising businesses from the ground upwards, in terms of the significant increase in interactions, engagement, and feedback businesses gain.
The Advantages of Short-Form Content - Driven with AI include:
· Maximum engagement – reports show that videos under 60-seconds long receive up to 150% more engagement. Facts!
· Promotes a mobile-first friendly atmosphere of users who favour optimisation as well as I do.
· Quick to produce, saves businesses time and money. Even easier to multiply and share content.
· Short videos have the potential to go viral very quickly, and that is due to the AI algorithms and how quickly AI detects each video, and pushes it directly toward your target audience, to the moment users begin to engage with your video.
The Disadvantages of Short-Form Content - Driven with AI include:
· Short life expectancy - this is definitely something business owners need to consider. With shorter videos, even though the impact is exponential, their life span is short, and therefore, once viewed, users will begin to see more videos rolling in from other competitors, so it’s unlikely the same short will be viewed again.
· With short videos, it can be a challenge for business owners to articulate complex ideas in one short video. Therefore, in this case, a longer video may be the best option!
· Creative burnout is a key term to keep in mind, as this is a barrier all businesses face later on, when they eventually run out of content to post. So it’s always a great idea to have a backup plan. Also posting less content is better than posting too much content and risking loss of engagement.
· Short videos are highly dependent on AI algorithms and their ability to rank each piece of content effectively.

E-Commerce and Online Shopping Platforms – An AI Driven Success.
On average, most consumers are 71% more likely to purchase something as a result of social media recommendations, and both the TikTok Shop and Instagram Checkout, are rapidly revolutionising the e-commerce industry day by day. How exciting! Right? Well, let’s see.
The Advantages of E-Commerce and Online Shopping include:
· Seamless buying experience – easier and more convenient for consumers to shop online.
· Social proof - easier to gain that validation from consumers, and maintain a strong sense of trust.
· Real-time gives rise to urgency – this is a new term that allows businesses to take advantage of E-Commerce strategies and platforms through real-time access to consumer metrics and greater profitability through how quickly consumers buy from a brand compared to traditional methods. This also greatly increases conversion rates and reputation.
· Businesses can reach wider audiences and interact with their clients in real-time through AI.
The Disadvantages of E-Commerce and Online Shopping include:
· E-Commerce requires businesses to be fully dependent on technology, working and behaving as it should 24/7.
· Connectivity problems, bugs, and issues when consumers buy their products may occur.
· Risks surrounding Security and Data Privacy, can become a huge problem for businesses, if they do not have sufficient levels of security and effective CRM methods for storing data.
· It can be difficult to gain trust and credibility over branding.

Building a Sustainable and Ethical Brand with AI Marketing Strategies.
“About 73% of millennials have to purchase from sustainable brands” - (Source: Forbes)." This is due to the amount of loyalty and retention brands have gained from millennials over the years, which can significantly impact the audiences of all modern brands. “As a business owner, this is something I have experienced. Right from the moment you launch your business, you already lose that 73%, which only gives you the opportunity to gain that extra 27% of consumers.” So moving with Strategy is key!
“This is why I always say that, a polished Marketing Strategy outlining every niche opportunity available, and detailing the avenues, you need to take to be successful, is a great way to quickly and clearly define your next steps.
The Advantages of Sustainable and Ethical Marketing with AI include:
· AI builds a greater sense of trust and loyalty amongst businesses when used appropriately.
· AI can also increase business reputation in a huge way.
· AI attracts value-based customers which boosts customer loyalty and drives more profits.
· Businesses sustain a greater competitive advantage over their competitors. Now this is definitely something every business owner wants to hear.
The Disadvantages of Sustainable and Ethical Marketing with AI include:
· AI bring a potential for bias and content being seen a disingenuous. Again, always check your work!
· There is a risk of a term called ‘greenwashing’, which means fake businesses could make inaccurate or misleading content to trick their audience. This can also have an impact on users' views towards E-Commerce and Online Shopping.
· More costs could occur for businesses and consumers over longer periods. So always keep an eye on your budget and don’t overspend.
· AI Marketing can bring challenges when it comes to ‘complete transparency’ due to the need for businesses to explain complex AI algorithms, and the consistent requirement for exceptional data protection methods.
“Sustainability isn’t a niche — it’s a necessity.” – Forbes
Augmented Reality Experiences made possible with AI Technology.
Augmented Reality (AR) has closed the divide between the physical and digital worlds we know, and has shaped them forever. “Sources tell us that up to 61% of customers indicate that they like brands with AR experiences compared to brands without.” (Source: Google). So that must mean AR has got to bring many advantages for businesses? That’s exactly what this means!
The Advantages of AR combined with AI Technology include:
· Interactive product trials - these are a phenomenal way to retain consumers, develop a deeper connection with them, keep them engaged, and maximise business profits. Something I have seen and done first-hand.
· Users who engage in AR Technologies generally spend more time browsing on a business's website, compared to users who don’t use AR.
· Implementing AR Technology helps businesses to gain a better understanding of their audience. 100%.
· AR is a crucial way for businesses to significantly build brand reputation.
· AR without a doubt, enhances user experiences in every way imaginable.
The Disadvantages of AR combined with AI Technology include:
· AR is usually expensive for businesses to develop and produce.
· There may be some technical constraints on specific users.
· AR needs to be fully optimised on handheld devices in order to work, which leads to an increase in costs.
· Can be novelty-driven which means AR may lose interest over time depending on how effectively its framework is implemented, and delivered to users.
“Augmented Reality brings storytelling to life.” – TED Talks
Humanised Design & A Touch Of AI To Enhance User Experiences Online.
The User Experiences (UX) AI brings, is also greatly influenced by humans and the actions they take. As a business owner, “the one thing I love seeing the most is how dedicated the majority of business owners are towards putting the needs of their clients first, and adapting AR Technologies to match every desire they have, as opposed to some business owners, who just release an AR product as a way of money grabbing.” As you can tell, I have huge amounts of respect for business owners who value their clients as I, the Founder & Director of Rivertech Digital® does too.
Here is a really important fact you need to know. So Google has confirmed that a 1-second delay in page loading times can reduce conversions by up to 20% for businesses utilising AI Technologies. This significantly decreases the chances of visitors interacting with your website. One way to combat this issues is to make sure that every element of your website is fully optimised, because as a faster website, leads to higher conversion rates, which can increase on average up to 17%.
The Advantages of AI in Human Based Design include:
· Drastically improves user engagement and interest towards a brand.
· Enhances efficiency, creativity, and makes content more accessible for users every step of the way.
· The use of AI leads to lower bounce rates as AI can quickly analyse the behaviours of multiple users, and create personalised recommendations for them based on what the business is selling and what they are searching for.
The Disadvantages of AI in Human Based Design include:
· Designs may require extensive research and trialling, which can be very time consuming and costly for a business. To save time I suggest outsourcing any research and trialling needed before hand, if cost-effective enough to do so.
· Designs will lack meaning, depth and uniqueness without human involvement. Always put your heart and soul into everything you do.
· Needs to be monitored closely to ensure that AI is aligning your design, correlating that with your brand, and the needs of your audience.
